STUBNER’S AFRICA KORP Helmet

(32B-2427, Not For Sale)

This German M-40, ET-64 size, No.1180, WW2 helmet shows both the National and the Army decal. It is painted in a color most often associated with early war conflicts, Africa, Sicily and Italy. The original owner named “Stubner” may have been lucky. The helmet shows battle damage in the form of an upward traveling projectile piercing the helmet. The trajectory may have been high enough to be non-lethal. The missing liner looks to have been torn out. Perhaps the liner was blood soaked and contributed little to the Souvenir.
